Soul Blader Soundtrack

When I played Illusion of Gaia a few console generations ago, I was unaware it was the second entry of a series that began with Soul Blazer, called Soul Blader in Japan. I wouldn't discover its predecessor until years later, although I found that the games contained minimal links in terms of storytelling. One thing that really stood out in Soul Blazer was the music, which is both a good and bad thing. Being one of the Super NES's early RPGs, the sound quality is definitely not at its best, although there are a variety of different instruments used, like synthetic organ. Some of the themes contain good beats, while others such as "Leo's Laboratory" sound cacophonic at best, and this overall certainly isn't one of the finest soundtracks of the 16-bit era.

Mild recommendation to avoid.
