Chrono Cross definitely proved to be a polarizing title compared to its predecessor, given its vast changes from Chrono Trigger, although one area most people could agree was good was its soundtrack, composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. Most tracks are solid, with a few having two different versions depending upon the dimension the player is in within the game, and while this reviewer didn't care much for the most commonly-heard track, the battle theme, it actually wasn't bad at all on this soundtrack. There are occasional remixes of tracks from Trigger such as one of the overworld themes, which sounds like a tropical version of the first game's main theme. Overall, a highly-recommended soundtrack.
