I have mixed memories of this game when the original version came out on the Sony PlayStation, given some frustrations with its gameplay, and I was somewhat apathetic towards the music as well, which I really didn't come to appreciate until years later. This is one of the earliest compositions by partners in crime Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata, and has a consistent sweeping epic feel from the very beginning until the end. There are several central themes and remixes of them, with a few characters having their own tracks such as Thunder God Cid, a fitting theme for the most powerful character in the game. Definitely recommended listening.
