Saw this rank high on Netflix and decided to give it a watch. It's an anime movie based on an unknown book about a girl named Mary who stumbles upon a type of flower that grants temporary magical powers called fly-by-night, and she discovers a broomstick that conveys her to a magical college called Endor, where conspiracy abounds. I'm not sure if the original book came before Star Wars or Harry Potter, and there are some things that don't translate well to English such as Mary addressing her broomstick as "little broomstick," although the film's largely on par with Studio Ghibli's works.
